Birkdesign is a brilliant graphic design firm based in Chicago, Illinois. Owned and operated by JinJa Birkenbeuel, Birkdesign has managed to land some of the most prestigious design contracts in the city, and was chosen to be a host design firm for the 15th annual 2005 “How Design” Conference in Chicago.

JinJa approached me with a fully complete site design and asked me to rebuild it in Flash, adding minimal animation, and to make it dynamic so she could later update it without having to learn how to code herself. All information on the site is pulled from a MySQL database via XML. The database is updated by a robust content management system, allowing JinJa the freedom to update virtually any aspect of the site.
